EXPIRED 12/2020: The Bristlecone Firesides team is excited to announce we have created a Socal Media Internship for the upcoming Jan-Apr 2021 semester. This internship is made possible through our collaboration with the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance. It will be stipended through April. Social Media Intern
The Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance (SUWA) and Bristlecone Firsides seek an intern to craft brand voice, create viral content, manage social media profiles, and to grow following.
The goals for the internship are:
- Boost brand awareness by growing social media followers and newsletter subscribers.
- Maintain a weekly schedule of posts on all social platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook).
- Collaborate with lead Bristlecone Firesides editor in crafting branding voice and creating campaign ideas.

Timeline and Hours: This internship is a 15-week program. The program will be from January 18 – April 30, 2021. Interns are expected to work approximately 8 hours per week. For interns who are students enrolled in courses during the internship, accommodations can be made for academic commitments such as tests, mid-terms, and finals, as well as class schedules.
Stipend and Equipment: Interns will be paid $1500 for the entirety of the internship in monthly installments. This equates to approximately $12.50/hour. Interns will need to provide their own computer with internet access and a webcam for meetings. SUWA will provide other necessary equipment and software for completing the internship.
Expectations: **DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THIS INTERNSHIP WILL BE COMPLETELY REMOTE THROUGH SPRING 2021.** Interns will be expected to attend a weekly check-in with SUWA staff project lead. This date & time is subject to change.
What we are looking for in an intern:
- Dedication to environmental activism.
- Can communicate the importance of Stewardship and Wilderness conservation to people of faith.
- Well acquainted with and literate in Utah’s faith communities.
- Command of and fluency in the various social media platforms and demonstrated skill in utilizing such platforms.
- Ability to perform data analysis and alter social campaigns accordingly.
- Ability to think creatively, with wit and brevity.
