The Earth Proclamation is a work of imaginative engagement with LDS scripture and many other sources. Titled, Compassion Upon the Earth: Our Common Home, the proclamation pays homage to Enoch’s cry for God to have compassion upon the Earth (Moses 7:49). Inspiration was also drawn from Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ as well as the obvious LDS Family Proclamation. Our intention with The Earth Proclamation is not to protest, coerce, or shame. Our hope is that the proclamation can be a conversation starter, a seed of inspiration, and a new beginning for Earth, our common home.
